Maisie came into season on the 23rd December, a little later than this time last year!
I am taking her to be mated to Champion Avonbourne All Spice but guess what? If I am lucky enough for her to concieve, she will be due the week of Crufts, typical! Quaified both Basil and Belle! Never mind, it will be great to have pups again, fate willing.

As you know we can only roughly guess
when our girls will come into season,
not all girls are smack bang on time.

Maybe a little later than last year,
but hey she is in season.

On what day of her season did you mate her last year,
and what dates are you mating her this season.

Do you ever scan to see if they are pregnant,
or do you just go with it?

I wish maise all the luck and that everything goes to plan
and that within the next couple of months
you have the patter of tiny paws.

Will you be keeping anything from her litter if she conceive's?

This will be your second generation,
your doing really well, Congratulations.

Not absolutely sure what day last time, as it was over Christmas/New Year she went to stay with the Luscotts the day after Boxing Day. I know she was mated on the 31st Dec, 1st and 2nd January but I am not sure what days of her season they were! I have had one blood test done this week on day 8/9 and he said no where near ready. Having another one done tomorrow, (friday), so I await the result of that!

I do have a scan, last time at three weeks which confirmed the pregnancy and then again at five weeks which gave me an accurate number. I also got little pics to keep! Not that you can really see much! My vets are very reliable with numbers.

I very much hope to keep a little girl. The plan has always been to keep two from Maisie, Belle is the result of line breeding one way, these pups, hopefully, will be the result of line breeding another way. All a little experimental at the moment, but, as you know, I study the pedigrees at length and hope to get the result I am looking for!

I am very pleased with Basil and Belle and how they have done in the ring for my first pups, I hope to build on that as I progress with my breeding plans for Belle, and of course, should I be lucky enough for Maisie to concieve this time and produce a nice little girl!
