Did you know that Head Lice (yes human ones) can actually live in the Lhasa Coat? There's food for thought for you all ;) :D so the next time your kiddy-winks contract head lice, be careful xx

Has anyone tried the Advocate stuff, it's supossed to kill fleas, lice, mange, worms, and any thing else by the sound of it, my vet charges £20 for a monthes aplication, but iv'e ordered 12 applications from itsadogshop.com, and for the 12 it was $170 so i will have to see if it's as good as the vets say it is.

I used advocate on my lhasas. It does fleas, mites, ticks etc. but it doesn't do worms, you still need to worm them.

Your vet is really ripping you off! Sorry, but they are! I thought my vet was bad charging £10! You can get 3 bottles (3 applications/3 months supply) for £15 from petmeds.co.uk. I think that works in at about the same as what you've paid online so you've got a good deal.

Are you're dogs in long coats or short coats? If they are in short coats then it's great, if they are in long coats then I'm saying nothing... I found that when I used it in Ravens coat it made her coat go all greasy. Oh, and you can't wash them for 10 days after the application or you'll basically wash it off (not all of it but they can't guarantee it's effectiveness if you wash them too soon) and considering you need to do it every four weeks then that's a bit of a problem if you bath them every week.

I don't want to sound too negative about it as it was great for wicket and I might use it again on him but I wouldn't put it on any long coated lhasas.

Mmmm I was intrigued by your post Kim. I have used this before but I put it on my three after I bathed and dried them and I did this without knowing all this actually so it was just a case of they were due to be bathed anyway so it worked out well. I have to say though it did'nt make my three's coat greasy in any way. I actually bought this some time ago and have not had the chance to buy it again and actually never gave it any further thought. At the moment Im using Stronghold which seems to be very effective and my three have never had a problem with it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Maybe it's raven texture in her coat that made the difference then? I dunno. Because she is pure white it looked really bad to see the grey greasy mark on the back of her neck and on her hair. She does have quite light flyaway hair so maybe that's the thing. I don't know anyone else with a long coated dog that's used it so i just assumed it looked worse because of her long hair. Now i'm not too sure...
